Manchester United star to reject Barcelona – Report


Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is a reported target for new Barcelona coach, Ernesto Valverde. But the Spanish international is prepared to turn down a chance to join the Blaugrana.

Herrera has enjoyed massive development under José Mourinho, and is one of the most effective and important player in the current United squad.

He was selected man of the match in the Europa League final, a match that helped United qualify for next season's Champions League and was voted as Manchester United's player of the season - a testimony to his change in status at the club.

He currently has 12 months left on his current contract, with the option of another. According to reports, Herrera is keen on signing a new deal at Old Trafford, and United will be more than willing to meet the player's demand.

Herrera and Ernesto Valverde had a working relationship together in his last season st Athletic Bilbao, before his move to United.

Herrera has established himself as a key player for United and losing him would be a huge blow. With the team in the Champions League next season, and the promise of improvement next season, players like Herrera have the opportunity of fulfilling their ambitions at United.
